Windows users know very well how helpful snipping tools is. If you don’t know about it; it is a software application comes pre-installed with Microsoft’s Windows OS. It helps to capture screen and save it as image in different image formats.
Also, you can highlight captured screenshots and it supports image extensions such as .png, .jpeg and .gif. Coming back to the update, technology giant Microsoft is providing new update to its Windows 11 OS. In this update snipping tools application will get screen recorder feature within it as per Microsoft’s blog post.
But one thing to note here is that, this update is rolling out for the Insiders community of Windows 11 in the Dev Channel. And it will have aforementioned feature in it.
“We know that Snipping Tool is a favourite among the Insider community, so we are very excited to introduce a built-in screen recorder with this update,” said Dave Grochocki, Principal Program Manager Lead, Windows Inbox Apps.

If you want to use the new feature, you have to first open the snipping tool application. In that you will get the new screen recorder feature. Before the screen recording process user will have to select portion of the screen they want to record.
Furthermore, when the recording is completed user can preview recording. And can later decide whether to keep recording or not. Further, it can be shared among friends and family members.
“We are just beginning the roll out now, so not all Insiders in the Dev Channel will receive the update right away,” Grochocki explained. In October, the technology giant Microsoft has rolled out several new updates for Windows 11. Like better file sharing features that facilitates users to share files and photos to Windows 11.
