Meta owned popular messaging app; WhatsApp is testing the edit button for messages. This feature is seen on Android’s latest beta version of the app. This indicates the possibility that it can be rolled out to majority of the users in near future.
Another thing is that, if this feature works as intended in the beta version, then only it will become available to other users worldwide. WaBetaInfo has provided the screenshot of this feature. According to which, app will show an “Edited” label on those messages which are edited.
This feature is beneficial to the recipient of the message as user will know that the changes have been made to the message. For now, not much information is available. Like whether WhatsApp will send notification if message is changed or edited.

Moreover, we will be able to see the time or date of the edited message is also unclear at the moment. As per the cited source, WhatsApp messaging platform will give only 15 minutes to correct or edit a portion of their sent message.
Furthermore, it is also not clear that the messaging platform will provide the facility to check all the edited versions of the message. Because it is a common thing that this Edit option will give rise to credibility issues on the messaging app.
Soon more information about the feature is expected to arrive. Also, we can see this feature in 2.22.22.14 beta update version for Android. In the current time period, there is only option to delete the message if there is any mistake in it.
The thing is that, after deleting message, app shows tag that “message was deleted”. And the person on the other end gets curious about the deleted message if he/she has not seen it. Also, Twitter has made editing tweets a reality.
In case of the Twitter, limited number of chances will be given to edit a tweet within 30 minutes just after publishing a tweet. Let me know in the comments below what you think about this beta feature of Edit ing WhatsApp message will it be helpful or is a non-useful feature.
