Free up storage space to fix slow phone:

According to Google, if your phone has less than 10% of storage space, it will face performance issues. If you have Google’s Files application on your phone, then it will become much easier for you to free up storage space on your device.

With the help of Google’s Files app, you can clean junk files present on your phone to increase space on your device. Along with that it also gives you the list of duplicate files present on your device, and you will gain space on your phone by deleting the duplicates.

Another thing about the Files app is that it will also suggests you to delete unused apps on your device and will also give you the list of unnecessary downloaded files that are taking up space on your phone. Apart from that if you want to store large files such as videos, songs etc. then you can add a memory card to your phone. This will also free up your phone’s internal storage.

Some companies make the lite versions of their apps. If you don’t know what lite version of the app means, then let me tell you that lite versions of app are designed specifically for the device that have low memory or storage space.

There are several lite apps available on the play store like Facebook lite, Messenger lite, Spotify lite, Twitter lite, Instagram lite, Google Go, Amazon Kindle lite, so on and so forth.

Change Your Wallpaper:

You might be using video wallpaper on your android phone or any sort of dynamic animated wallpaper. Those kinds of wallpaper take up phone resources making the phone slow. So, the simple fix is that change your animated wallpaper to a static one. Doing so will free up the system resources that animated wallpaper was taking.

Install An Anti-Virus to fix slow phone:

There might be a chance that your android phone has viruses or malware in it. Try installing an anti-virus app and utilize the app to scan for viruses present on your device. And delete those viruses that are present on your phone. Viruses or malware takes up a significant portion of your phone’s resources to do something that will be dangerous, and it will never let you know what it’s doing. Also, if you sideload android apps then the chance of getting viruses or malware on your device is much higher.

Factory Reset:

If all the things have failed, then you should try Factory Reset your Android smartphone device. This will most probably work and fix your slow Android phone. As my old phone with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM started working faster after the factory reset. So, what does factory reset do? In simple terms it erases all the data present on your android like apps, photos, messages, contacts etc. and brings your phone to the initial stage. By the initial stage I mean to say that phone software will be reverted to the state when it was first created.

Note: Before factory resetting, take the backup of all the important files and other data.

So, to factory reset your android device follow the easy steps below:

  1. Head over to Settings.
  2. Then tap on System.
  3. After that tap on Reset options.
  4. Then select Erase All Data (factory reset).

One most important thing you should know before factory resetting your phone that your device must be charged enough or is in the charging state in case of low battery. Because factory reset can take some time to complete.
